Carrying on the Legacy of a Historic Inn built on Community, Service, and Hospitality

"We were just about to close on the deal of our dreams in early spring of 2020 when Coronavirus reared its ugly head, our industry was halted, leaving so many without jobs and times extremely uncertain. Debbie Godt was referred to us highly, and she immediately got to work on our unique and intricate business deal. There were a lot of moving parts, and so many new things to consider, especially with the current state of the world. Debbie made the process extremely smooth and helped us navigate murky waters that were so unfamiliar to us. Her entire team was professional and pushed us to the finish line. Without her, we would not be the proud new business owners that we are today. Our restaurant lies within a historic building in a community that needs us. 44 Business Capital and Berkshire Bank not only helped make our dream a reality, but they have helped a community in ways they may never fully realize. We are so grateful and happy to work with people as determined and persistent as we are! Thanks Debbie, and thanks 44 Business Capital!"

CHALLENGE

Ashley and her fiancé Dan wanted to purchase the business assets, real estate, and liquor license of Humphrey's Tavern in Glen Gardner, NJ. The Tavern closed in May 2019 and had not been operational since that time. Ashley and Dan have years of restaurant experience, however they are young and did not have the cash to inject into the venture. Their lack of liquidity, coupled with COVID and the restaurant having not been operational for over a year made the financing very challenging.
