The winning team drinks from the Sophie Jane Darr Cup as Jane Rapone looks on
The 44 team took part in the Annual Sophie Jane Darr Golf Outing that contributes 100% of the proceeds to families affected by the unfairness of childhood disease. The foundation provides financial assistance from a chair lift for an adolescent for independent bathing to a bus pass for an overworked mother needing transportation to visit her sick child. 44 partner Phil Rapone and his wife Jane started the Sophie Jane Darr Foundation after the death of their granddaughter Sophie who died from brain cancer in 2007. They have directly helped many families through referrals from local child advocacy organizations as well as social workers from local children’s hospitals.
